Как сохранить HTML DOMDocument без HTML-оболочки?

Я - функция ниже, я изо всех сил пытаюсь вывести DOMDocument без добавления XML, HTML, body и p теги-оболочки перед выводом содержимого. Предлагаемое исправление:

$postarray['post_content'] = $d->saveXML($d->getElementsByTagName('p')->item(0));

Работает только в том случае, если в содержимом нет элементов уровня блока внутри. Однако, когда это происходит, как в приведенном ниже примере с элементом h1, результирующий вывод saveXML усекается до ...
