Когда компилятор оптимизирует мой код

Я пытаюсь создать образец кода , чтобы показать оптимизацию кода компилятором при умножении на число степени 2. Тем не менее, когда я включаю оптимизацию кода, IL остается в основном тем же. Есть идеи, что я здесь делаю не так?

Я думал, что компилятор оптимизирует оператор mul до оператора shl?
Мои знания IL очень ограничены (если не вообще отсутствуют).
