Valgrind: «Неверное чтение» с c_str и strtod

я использую strtod() для преобразования некоторых входных строк. при проверке моего кода с помощью valgrind я столкнулся с «недопустимым чтением размера 8». сообщение появляется, если b начинается с «i» или «n», это то, что я обнаружил до сих пор. Кроме того, если я создаю const char* напрямую (без вызова c_str()), strtod работает нормально. вот код:
