Сочетание TabListener, ActionBarSherlock Fragment и ListFragment, PageAdapter? Беспорядок

У меня есть активность с двумя фрагментами . Я решил использовать PageAdapter для переключения между двумя представлениями, но, чтобы оставаться ближе к лучшим практикам дизайна Android, я также решил использовать вкладки панели действий (фиксированные). Я использую ActionBarSherlock и некоторый код из здесьдля реализации вкладок. Только с pageadapter активность работала чудесно, теперь у меня две проблемы: 1) первый фрагмент (MatchRugbyButtonFragment) суперимпрессирует изображение самого себя, поэтому, если я прикоснусь к нему и перемещу или что-то поменяю, я увижу изображение над рабочим фрагментом. 2) когда я перехожу ко второму фрагменту, первый теряет все переменные (сброс таймера, сброс счетчиков, и т.д.). Мне пришлось создать tablistener, потому что один фрагмент является SherlockFragment, а другой - SherlockListFragment, и это вызвало ошибку, когда он не мог преобразовать фрагмент в SherlockListFragment.
