Java : Замена Endians на DataInputStream

У меня есть несколько оговорок по следующему. Обратите внимание на методы, которые не изменяют функциональность (функции, которые считывают типы больших конечных номеров). Невозможно реализовать DataInputStream в качестве базового класса и использовать его методы, такие как read(), readInt(), readChar() и т.д.?

Моя классовая иерархия здесь кажется немного странной. Уместно ли это?
